The Globe Unified School District Governing Board acted at its regularly scheduled board meeting last evening to adjust its plan regarding the transition of the superintendent’s chair from current superintendent Jerry Jennex to incoming superintendent Dr. Christa DalMolin East. Mr. Jerry Jennex’s last day will be on February 29, 2024 and Dr. Christa DalMolin East will start her role as superintendent for Globe Unified School District on March 1, 2024. Mr. Jennex tendered his resignation in the fall of 2023 and informed the Governing Board that he was interested in seeking a superintendency in California. He has been offered a superintendent position in Trona Joint Unified School District in California. Mr. Jennex will begin working in his new position on March 4, 2024 pending Board approval from the Trona Governing Board this evening.
GUSD Governing Board President Ms. Jacque Sanders stated, “The GUSD Board thanks Mr. Jennex for his 12 years of service to the district and wishes him well in California. The GUSD Board is looking forward to working with Dr. DalMolin East as she assumes the role of district superintendent. After a thorough superintendent search, the board is confident she will be a visionary and skillful leader.”
