Our Focus for the Globe Unified School District Food & Nutrition Department is dedicated to supporting the educational process by providing nutritious, affordable meals to students of the Globe/Miami and San Carlos Area.

We work to provide our students with access to a wide variety of foods that are both appealing, nutritious, and healthy. Foods sold served by GUSD is based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Free and reduced meals are available to those families that qualify, based on income and family size. Applications are available on this page. If you have any questions about the GUSD food service program, please don’t hesitate to contact us at the provided number above. 

Dear Parents,

Please take time to fill out a very important form for your students and our District. Normally, you are asked to fill out the application for free/reduced meal benefits at the beginning of the year. We request that you fill out the form, even if you believe you are not eligible, as soon as possible.

It is IMPORTANT that you complete the application because application completion does so much more than providing free/reduced lunches to those that qualify. In our District, it also provides funding for additional paraprofessionals, reading supports, and educational programs to enhance your child's educations. We need this funding.

You can print the  APPLICATIONS FORMS or you can do your meal benefit application online at Mealtime Apply Online. Please complete all forms in their entirety to avoid delay in processing. All information in the forms are confidential.

Again, please fill out this form as soon as possible to help us keep funding for important school programs and for free/reduced lunch eligibility. Please fill out the form even if you believe you do not qualify.

Dear Foster Parents, 

Welcome to 2020-2021 school year at Globe Unified School District! We look forward to a healthy and successful school year with your children. With the start of a new school year, we wanted to remind you about school meals for your family. 

Foster Children Eat for Free 

A child in foster care, who is formally placed by a court or foster agency, can receive free school meals for the entire school year, both breakfast and lunch. If the school knows about your foster child, the child should already be getting free meals. If your foster child is not eating for free or you were not notified that he or she can receive free meals, you may apply for free school meals for your foster child at any time by contacting Craig Hagen at craig.hagen@globeschools.org or 928-402-6043. 

Meals for Other Children in Your House 

Foster parents who apply for school meals may include both a foster child and their other children on the same application. Including a foster child on the same application as your other children will increase your house size, which may help your other children eat for free. But even if your other children cannot get free meals, your foster child can still get free school meals. 

When a Foster Child Moves 

If your family moves or your foster child moves to a new school, he or she can still get free meals. If you are in the same school district you do not have to do anything for your foster child to continue to receive free meals. If you move to another school district, your foster child can still get free meals but you need to reapply to continue or start school meal benefits. If your foster child stops getting free meals when you move, please let the school know as soon as possible.
