Hello Globe families,
Thank you all for being Tigers! We have missed you and look forward to being able to safely see you again, whether online or in-person for the 2020-2021 school year. COVID-19 has disrupted our community and has forced us to make complex decisions with sparse information and conflicting guidance. We have been able to work together – as parents and educators – to develop learning options to best serve and educate our students. We have a lot of questions and are learning as we go in this unprecedented situation. We ask for increased patience as what works today may not work tomorrow and so things may continue to change. We know that we will work together, learn together and stay safe together as Globe Tigers!
Based upon Arizona Department of Education Guidance and the Governor’s executive order, GUSD is planning to return to school on August 17, 2020 and offer three different options to best serve our student and family needs. Please understand that these options, as well as the start date, may change depending upon the spread of COVID in our community and the state. The safety and well-being of our students and staff is important. Although we can never guarantee an environment free from illness (no one can), we are taking steps to help mitigate spread. Our plan incorporates recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Arizona and Gila County health departments, OSHA and the Arizona Department of Education.
Please click on the appropriate links to learn more about each of the options: 100% online, Hybrid (in-person and remote learning) and in-person. You will be asked to fill out a form on-line and/or will be contacted via phone to learn the option you prefer for at least the first trimester of the 2020-2021 school year.
Again, we are happy that you are TIGERS and look forward to adapting and learning together safely in the upcoming year.
